Tender Points - Pressure Points
The pressure points used to have a very great importance in diagnostics. They were even considered the central criterion for the disease. Today, they are seen more as part of the increased sensitivity in FMS. The decisive factor is the first indication of the spread pain - regional pain index.
Nevertheless, we examine them regularly and practically always they are positive, i.e. particularly painful. However, the absence of "tender points" does not exclude fibromyalgia syndrome. - This constellation is often found in athletic men.
